Carpe Diem...

Carpe Diem "seize the moment"
Creativity is often born from just being spontaneous and being "in the moment" -being able to look around yourself at the people and places close to you, seeing the beauty of what is as well as what could be. I've been carrying my camera in the car with me and taking some shots whenever the feeling strikes me. Here, is a collection of some of the sites of Kingsport that I have been fortune to stumble upon...

the view of downtown... looking down from the Progress building at dusk

everyone's favorite - Pal's (original location)
                                                               icicles
Buzzards on the river.... so morbid yet mesmerizing

Now let us sport us while we may,
And now, like amorous birds of prey,
Rather at once our time devour
Than languish in his slow-chapt power.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
  Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
  Tomorrow will be dying

Carpe Diem!

Aboundant Days

Just finished off a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. It was filling and fulfilling. I thought I would share a few things that I picked up the last few days ...

The beginning of fall brings such wonderful and rich colors. Its so hard to believe it is already time for the autumn rainbows to fade and for winter slumber to begin!

WHERE GO THE BOATS
Dark Brown is the river,
Golden is the sand.
It flows along forever,
With trees on either hand.

Green leaves a-floating,
Castles of the foam,
Boats of mine a-boating
Where will all come home?

On goes the river
And out past the mill,
Away down the valley,
Away down the hill.

Away down the river,
A hundred miles or more,
Other little children
Shall bring my boats ashore.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst  for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Matthew 5:6

Your soul is hungry and your heart is thirsty. You feel an insatiable longing for something. You are restless. Almost everywhere you turn, the grass is greener than where you stand. And the great tragedy for some of you is that even though this is the Spirit of God beckoning you to himself, you turn away again and again to short-run, temporary, backfiring pleasures. And everything turns to ashes in your hands. We drink at broken cisterns. And we eat bread which does not satisfy. The words of C.S. Lewis ring true. He said,
If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
Today, sitting around a table having a enlightening discussion with some friends, someone reminded me that there is a greatness within each and everyone of us. Dispite wether we choose to know God during our life here on earth or not, he created each one of us and gave us each special and unique gifts (a purpose if you will). I'm enjoying a new awakening and searching for the greatness within myself.

a Blog is born...

This is my first post and I hope that it is one of many yet to come!

Sometimes letting go gives us a better grip. Right now in my life I can almost feel a fog being lifted. I'm exploring lots of new options and avenues in my life. It feels like I'm on the brink of alot of change. Everywhere I turn there seem to be little signs that it is the time for morphisis. I'm anxious but excited to see where these new paths will take me. I hope that this blog will be a good reflection of my life day-to-day and that it may be an inspiration or muse for those who view it. Enjoy!

Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God's will is-what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.
Romans 12:2
